
The five-member County Board is the governing body of Arlington vested with its legislative powers. Members are elected at-large for staggered four year terms and the Chairmanship rotates annually.

County Board Passes Ordinance Relating to the Removal of Snow and Ice From Public Sidewalks Fiscal Year 2011 Adopted BudgetOn April 24, 2010 the County Board adopted the FY 2011 Budget. Acting to preserve core services, ensure fiscal sustainability and retain a highly skilled workforce, the Arlington County Board approved a $955.9 million General Fund budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2010 with an 8.3-cent increase in the real estate tax rate. The County Board also adopted a document providing direction to the County Manager for disposition of particular funds and follow-up studies related to the FY11 budget actions.
