Transportation Engineering is comprised of eight programs, they are:
Mission
The Bureau's mission and focus is to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of the street, pedestrian, and parking systems of the County by designing, installing, maintaining and operating all traffic control devices and street lighting; by providing data and expertise for the planning and design of the systems; and by coordinating and administering operating contracts for the provision of pavement marking and parking services. The Bureau's staff in these programs carry out their roles in collecting and analyzing data, using proper signing, monitoring operations and maintaining traffic control devices, coordinating street markings, maintaining and repairing parking meters and street lighting to provide safe pedestrian and vehicular movement.
Administration
Administration has management oversight of all operating programs in the Bureau and serves to direct, coordinate, and provide management and engineering direction. This section reviews all plans and proposals which affect the County's transportation systems, and provides management, personnel, budget and expenditure accountability for all operating programs within the division.
