NOTE:  County to Estimate Some March Water/Sewer Bills

Due to difficulty accessing and reading utility meters during and after the historic February snowstorms, Arlington County must estimate approximately 9,000 water/sewer bills scheduled to be delivered to residential customers in March.

  • For most accounts, estimated water consumption is based on usage in the same period of the previous year.
  • Estimates for newer accounts are based on overall average usage.
  • Check to see if your bill is estimated by looking at the meter information section of your billing statement. If you see the notation ‘ESTIMATED CONSUMPTION’, your bill is an estimate.
  • Every attempt will be made to obtain the actual meter readings in May prior to the next quarterly bill.
  • Impacted customers’ statements will be adjusted in the next billing cycle to account for over- or under-estimated bills in March.

Questions? If you believe the estimation on your statement is not in line with your usage, please contact (703) 228-6570 to review the bill with a customer service representative. Examples of discrepancies include a newly vacant property or plumbing improvements.
