Arlington, Va.) — Arlington County, which led the first 10 days of the rescue and recovery efforts at the Pentagon, will announce results from an After-Action Report during a news conference at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 23. The news conference will be in the Arlington Economic Development Presentation Room, Suite 1500, at 1100 N. Glebe Rd. Advance embargoed copies of the report will be available for accredited media representatives beginning at 8:30 a.m. in Room 314, 2100 Clarendon Blvd.
The report was commissioned by Arlington officials and prepared by Titan Systems Corporation (TSC) under a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice. Project Director Grant Peterson of TSC will present the report, after which a panel of representatives from Arlington, the FBI, the Defense Protective Service and the Virginia Hospital Center-Arlington will be available for questions.

The report provides a summary of the successful tactics used, challenges encountered and recommendations developed to help other communities improve emergency preparedness and planning. In preparing the report, TSC used a combination of interviews and debriefing sessions with first responders in Arlington and neighboring jurisdictions, senior emergency response officials and hundreds of participants in the 9/11 effort at the Pentagon.

From Annapolis follow US 50 (John Hanson Hwy.) west to New York Avenue in the District. From Baltimore and points north, follow I-95 to the Capital Beltway, then continue on the Beltway south to Exit #22, RTE 295, Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Follow 295 south to New York Avenue in the District. From New York Avenue, turn left onto I-395 South and follow signs for VIRGINIA. From the Northwest in Maryland:
Go south on I-270 to the Northern Virginia exit onto I-495 (Capital Beltway). Cross the Potomac River via the American Legion Bridge. Take the left exit at Exit #12, Dulles Access Road east to Washington. Continue to I-66, then follow directions in “From the West in Virginia” paragraph below.
From the West in Virginia:
From Falls Church, Fairfax, Centreville, Manassas and other western points, follow I-66 EAST to Exit #71, the Glebe Road/Ballston/Marymount University exit. Turn left at the second light onto North Glebe Road. Continue on North Glebe Road to the next traffic light (11th Street) and make a left. 1100 North Glebe Road is straight ahead.
