HOUSING POLICY AND PLANNING
Role
Housing Planning staff provide the information needed for the County to develop effective goals and strategies to address the community's housing needs. Specific tasks and responsibilities include:
Consolidated Plan
The Annual Action Plan provides a detailed plan of action for the current fiscal year. The Five-Year Consolidated Plan provides detailed information on low and moderate income housing needs and sets out the County's vision and comprehensive goals, policies and strategies to address housing, homelessness, and community development needs.
Goals and Targets
In December 2000 the County Board adopted Affordable Housing Principles and Goals (PDF Format) to guide housing policy in Arlington. In 2003 the County Board approved numerical targets to help guide and measure the County's progress towards meeting the adopted housing goals. The targets report (Setting Numerical Targets for Arlington's Affordable Housing Goals) includes baseline performance data as well as housing trends. The Annual Targets Report (PDF Format) details progress in FY 2011.
