Multicultural Advisory Commission
The proposed Arlington County Budget for FY2010 was presented to the County Board recently. Please share your ideas online with the County Board, with the Multicultural Advisory Commission or attend the County Board public hearing on March 24 and 25 at the County Boardroom, 2100 Clarendon Boulevard, Third Floor.
The Multicultural Advisory Commission advises the Arlington County Board, County Manager and County agencies on concerns, interests and needs of the diverse cultural communities in the Arlington community. The Commission also advocated for cross-cultural relations, multicultural education, cultural heritage preservation and culturally appropriate delivery of government services.
The Commission:
- Advises county board members on issues affecting diverse communities
- Supports student achievements
- Fosters community dialogues and multicultural events
- Provides a public forum for discussion of issues that affect Arlington's multicultural communities
- Promotes cross-cultural communication, and
- Promotes the development and implementation of strategies and program activities that foster cultural understanding and diversity.
The Multicultural Advisory Commission meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at Court House Plaza, 2100 Clarendon Blvd., Azalea Conference Room.
