"Food for Thought" Earns Emmy Nomination
The County's cable TV channel, Arlington Virginia Network (AVN) earned a prestigious 2009 Emmy nomination (pdf) for its "Food for Thought" program in the category "Magazine Program - Program/Special." (2010)

Trip Advisor named Arlington's Gravelly Point one of the Top 10 Aviation Attractions in the country. (2010)
Recycling Efforts Recognized
The National Association of Counties (NACo) recognized Arlington with two 2010 Achievement Awards; one for Enhanced Residential Curbside Recycling and the other for Quincy Park Interpretive Recycling Center.
#13 "Least Economically Stressed County"
The Associated Press Economic Stress Index ranked Arlington as the #13 "least economically stressed" county in the U.S. (June 2010)
Arlington’s Reed-Westover Project Receives Gold LEED Certification
The new Reed-Westover Facility, a joint project between Arlington Public Schools and Arlington County Government, has been awarded Gold Certification in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) program by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), for sustainable design and energy-saving measures.
Best Integrated Social Media Campaign
During its first annual social media awards, the Northern Virginia Technology Council awarded Arlington top honors for "Best Integrated Social Media Campaign." (2010)
