In its "Best of NoVa" edition, Northern Virginia magazine included many Arlington businesses. It also named Shirlington Dog Park as the "Best Place to Take the Dog" and Clarendon the "Best Neighborhood for Young Professionals" and "Best Neighborhood for Singles." (2011)

According to Forbes magazine, Arlington is the ninth richest county in the United States, with median housing income of $96,390 and 71% of residents with bachelor's degree or higher. Six of the nation's richest counties are in the National Capital Region. (2010)
