Arlington Drafts Ambitious Plan for Sustainable Energy Future

If adopted, the Community Energy Plan would provide a roadmap for transforming the way energy is used, generated and distributed in Arlington. It sets a target reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to 3.0 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per resident per year by 2050, a reduction of about 75% from current levels. Arlington County and LEAP Helps Homeowners Make Energy Saving Improvements

Arlington County is working to reduce its carbon footprint with initiatives like Fresh AIRE and the Community Energy Plan. Partnering with LEAP and the Home Performance with Energy Star (HPwES) program will bring Arlington one step closer to realizing its Energy Plan goal of improving home energy use in existing homes by 30 percent starting in 2015.
